Further Studies After B.Tech

Engineering is turning a mundane career option. Due to a lot of engineering colleges opening day after day; engineering has lost its charm but still there are a few who are passionate to be an engineer. In short it has become a cake walk to pursue engineering and add a title of Er. before your name. In future , Engineering colleges will turn in to hotels!
Now let me talk of various options as soon as you complete your bachelor's degree.
1. Go for a job
2.Go for further studies

We will talk of these two separately

Studying After Engineering

Most people like to pursue further studies after they culminate engineering. Here we will talk of different options of studies after engineering.

1.Pursue further studies in engineering domain.......

People who love engineering may further pursue M.tech/M.S further to increase their domain of knowledge .
Now the major thing is the difference between an M.tech and M.S
Here i will try to tell you the basic difference between
M.tech Versus M.S.
M.tech stands for master of technology where as M.S. stands for maters of Science this is not the only difference the main difference is given below

Advantages of M.tech over M.S.

  1. M.tech requires very little fees for studies that is of no significance....
  2. In M.tech you get remunerations that are scholarships , Government of India provides you with HRD scholarshipsn that may range from 8000 to 13000 indian rupees
  3. There are institutes for research in India like CSIR, which pay up to 39000 Indian rupees if you are up to that mark besides that they even provide you with a job .
  4. The minimum eligibility conditions for admission to the M.Tech program are given below. The candidate should have secured a minimum of 55 percent marks or a CPI (Cumulative Performance Index) of 5.5 (on a 10.0 scale) in the qualifying examination.
The applicant must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Master's in Science. The applicant must have a sufficient background in that domain to complete the degree requirements with reasonable performance. Those who are appearing for the final examination, and whose results are going to be available before the last date of submission of records (usually around 1st September) are also eligible to apply.
    1. The Admissions in top notch institutes are through GATE.
    2. A good gate score does not grantee your seat in blue chip institutions..
There is one stage called interview process without which admission is not possible

The Blue chip institutes for M.tech (India) are

    Difference between PGDM and MBA

Most aspiring managers who want to pursue management studies to give a boost to their careers are very often a confused lot. They want to get the maximum return on their fees and hence do everything it takes to get a degree from one of the renowned B-Schools of the country. In an attempt to make it to IIMs, XLRI or Symbiosis, these students are willing to spend as much time and money as required. They join coaching classes, take practice exams and have mock interviews to make it to the best of the lot.
However, one thing that really confuses them is to go for a MBA from a recognised university or PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) from IIMs. Let us help you understand the basic difference between the two in India-:
    1) Only universities can offer MBA: In India only those management institutes which are affiliated to a university can offer an MBA degree. For this reason institutes like Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA), University of Pune, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies or Faculty of Management Studies can offer MBA degree, as they are affiliated with Pune, Mumbai and Delhi University respectively. Also IIMs, though being the best of the lot, can't offer MBAs as they are not affiliated with any university. Institutes which are not affiliated to university are autonomous and can offer PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) degree. However, some of these programmes are approved by regulatory bodies such as AICTE.
    2) Difference in focus of curriculum: While there are huge similarities in the curriculum of both MBA and PGDM, there are finer points of difference. While MBA focuses more on theoretical aspects of management and is more exam-oriented, PGDM has a focus on building soft skills and is industry-oriented. It prepares you for the job market.
    3) Curriculum of PGDM is flexible: Since an autonomous institute does not have to follow university standards, it is free to change its curriculum according to industry standards and change in business environment. Also a PGDM gives you an industry exposure. Whereas it will take time to change the curriculum for MBAs as it is affiliated with a university and it will essentially follow the university guidelines and changing this curriculum is a very slow process.
    4) MBAs are more affordable: In compared to PGDM, generally MBAs are more affordable as the fees is almost similar to university standard. You can get a rough idea if you compared the fees of IIM and FMS.
    5) Difference in focus: An MBA will help in developing technical skills and business knowledge whereas a PGDM will prepare graduates for senior level positions in industry and paves the way for a strong corporate career. Hence, if you're looking for a career in the challenging area of management, you should go for PGDM.
However, one should remember that it is not important whether a student pursues PGDM or MBA. The institution where he is studying is of supreme importance and enhances their employability. If you pursue your management studies from a reputed college which is recognised and offers decent placements, then your chances of employment and going abroad get enhanced.http://cat.learnhub.com/lesson/20042-mba-vs-pgdm-which-is-a-better-option-for-me?id=20042-mba-vs-pgdm-which-is-a-better-option-for-me

  2. Thanks for sharing information about higher education after engineering.
I am also an Engineer, looking forward for masters degree. But I'll prefer MBA degree instead of M.Tech. The major reason for the same is that MBA has larger scope than M.Tech. Further there are many amazing universities that provides online MBA courses at affordable fees.
One can choose any specialization as per their choice through online MBA program.
